Safety Guide

Your safety on Habbo should always be your top priority! You should ensure at all times that you are happy whilst playing Habbo and not put off by anything you see. Online Safety in general is extremely important. In this guide we aim to make you fully aware of Personal Safety, Account Safety and Top Tips on safety around Habbo Hotel!

Your Personal Safety

To ensure you are always safe in and around Habbo you must take great care in Personal Safety, by this we mean your Identity. You should always make sure that you keep your name, address, telephone number, instant messaging details, photos of yourself or anything else personal as private as can be. If anyone ever asks you for any of these details you have the right to report them - be sure to alert a Moderator through the ‘Call for Help’ system and make them aware of what the person is asking from you. While the Moderator deals with the person you can remove them from your console and click ‘Shut up’ on them if in a room on the hotel! You have the power to keep your Identity Safe so make sure you do!

Another part of keeping your identity safe is never meeting up with people from the internet. People are not always who they say they are and you could end up in great danger.

Scammers!

There are Habbo’s out there who can sometimes be mean or nasty. They use a number of methods trying to fool Habbo’s into giving them their furni. Here are two examples of methods that have been used in the past and how to avoid them.

“I can double your furniture.”

A scammer may claim that if you give them your furni they will be able to double it for you and it will be returned to you - this is complete and utter rubbish! This is not possible on Habbo and once they have got your furni they will be off in a flash. If anyone every asks you to give them your furni so they can double it make sure your report them!

“Go to this site for free Credits!”

You may hear a Habbo say this, if they do instantly kick them from the room if you have rights and report them, or alternatively if you do not have rights or are in a public room follow free simple steps. These scams often involve you giving personal details such as date of birth, emails and passwords.

1. Click Shut Up! - Shut the Habbo up!
2. Alert people in the room they are scamming!
3. Report them by clicking on the user and clicking the Report button!

Scammers will also try to lure you in with tricks via email. Remember only emails that have @sulake.com within them are official Habbo emails, if you get anything else, regardless of how professional it may look, it is most probably a scam. Habbo will also never ask for your password, only you should know your password and no one else.

Hacking!

Habbo security has recently been improved in the last few years and there are not many ways in which you can be scammed. However a main method in which hacking can today take place are through your e-mail addresses. So it’s important you keep your e-mail and Date of Birth registered with your Habbo Account private!
